Do You Really Have to………Struggle?

Do you feel that in order to get your goals done, and feel good about it, you have to make it hard, you have to work many, many hours, you have to suffer,…., you have to really struggle?

Many of us have been brought up believing the only way to deserve success is to work for it, and thus we go on our lives, making sure we really work hard and long before we can have our goal, or to manifest our wishes.

But is that really true? I mean where did we read that? Where did we hear that? Why did this belief, become a fact?

Did you hear your parents talk about the successful businessman and in the conversation you heard, “it took him 25 years”, or “ he deserves it, he’s been at it for a long time”, or other statements like that.

Society has indoctrinated us with the idea that the only way to success, or reaching our goals is through a lot of hard work. Yes that may be true in some cases, and I am certainly for working and doing our best, but in reality it does not have to take long, or be hard.

How do I know that? Well, in most religions and philosophies, it is stated that if “God or Universe is willing, it is done. And in my life experiences, there are things that happened with ease, just happened with my wish.

So you might be thinking “but that does not happen, I see people struggling all the time”. I agree and that is because we have collectively bought into that JUNK BELIEF, the belief that it has to be hard. We have bought into it fully to the extent that many of us will actually sabotage success when it comes with ease.

Have you ever felt, “Every time I get close to success I do something to ruin it; this could be about your diet, or learning a new skill, or reaching the success you dream of in your career or business, or even making money.

If you believe in that JUNK Belief “it has to be hard”, and in your mind you have not worked hard enough yet to deserve it, then the mind will lead you to sabotage. Your subconscious mind will follow the program you have given it, it always does,– till its re-programmed, just like your computer.

Believe me, I know about this, with all the law of attraction knowledge, and manifestation can actually be as easy as an intention, or a firm affirmation, still my programming is so deeply wired to believe “it has to be hard, it has to be hard”. Even when I do manifest easily, my mind seems to ignore that, or think “Oh, only in that situation”. I know a few things about this exhausting belief, as it has run my life.  And of course the bigger the goal, the more it has to be hard!

The most important step of change is recognition of what is not working. Recognition that this is not a truth, once you know that, and you really want to change it, then….

The best tool I know of on the planet to break and change beliefs is Emotional Freedom Techniques, EFT*.

Today I am sharing with you a Tapping Script to change the belief of having to struggle.

“It Has to Be Hard.”

First think about a goal you want to achieve. Say the statement “It going to be hard, or its going to take a long time” and see how true that feels for you. Rate the strength of this belief between 0-10, where 0, is not really, and 10, its absolutely true. Don’t worry about being perfect in this rating, trust the number that jumps out in your mind.

KC: Even though I was taught life is hard, I totally and completely accept myself.

Even though I was brought up with the beliefs that it has to be hard, and many hours of grinding, and perfecting, I totally and completely accept myself.

Even though I was believed that life is a place of struggle, and it’s the way it is, I love and accept myself.

EB:   It has to be hard,

SE: Its always been hard,

UE: Everyone says you have to work really hard,

UN: My parents had to really work hard,

Chin: And almost everyone I know, works really hard,

CB: It has to be hard, that is the way it is

UA: It just has to be hard,

TH: It’s the way it is,

EB: It has to be hard,

SE: I am not so sure,

UE: Because there are people who did not really have to work that hard,

UN: I mean they put effort of course, they did work, but not that hard,

Chin: A lot of the new inventions was not that hard, it was just working,

CB:   Just like the effort most people put out,

UA:   they only have 24 hours, just like me, and they did their best

TH:   I wonder if its possible that its not about working hard and long,

EB: Maybe its just about putting the effort in a targeted way, in a smart way

SE: Maybe its about working smartly, not working hard,

UE: Maybe its about working with a plan, an informed plan, and learning from others

UN: Maybe I can learn to work smart instead of working hard

Chin: Because quite frankly this working hard is not working for me, its tiring me out

CB: Maybe its about changing that belief, that it has to be hard,

UA: I am open to changing that belief, because its not really, really true,

TH: There are many people who achieve their goals without suffering, or struggling

EB: I am open to changing that belief

SE: I am open to releasing the struggle

UE: I am open to knowing that my goal can come with ease,

UN: I choose to reach my goals with ease,

Chin: I choose to put all the necessary effort and expect the results,

CB: I choose to believe I can do it with ease.

UA: And I love and accept myself,

 

You may need to repeat the tapping several days or weeks, as this program is ingrained in many people and has a strong hold on our thinking.

What Does Love have to do with …….Money?

image money and love downloadMoney has often been used as a replacement for love.  You probably know that, but did you know the longing for love will show up in your money situation.

Many people did not receive enough love in their childhood, and gifts and toys and vacations were used to replace the much needed love.  Many of those people will continue to look for love, in the way they know of, in the form of financial support.

For women, it shows up in women who need material goods to feel loved. Women who define being loved with how much their partner gives them.

In men it shows up, with men who are looking for love in the form of money.  These men will find a way to be in a position where they rely on their female partners to be the provider, in reality they often create that because of a need to feel loved, or a need to see love the way they are use to seeing it.   Their inner programming says, “to prove she loves me, she needs to provide financial support for me”.

Often, love deprived males will look for partners that replace the mother figure in their lives, and part of that role has to be of being the financial security,  the provider.

What if Money was used for love in your childhood

What if that is your relationship with love and money, can you change it?  Of course you can.  It all starts with awareness.  Once you are aware of what is going on, you can start the healing, the change of this programming.

Today’s mind technology tools, make it much easier to release beliefs, and change patterns that have been ingrained into our nervous system for years.

You can journal about the feelings, and what financial support means to you, and you can also use Emotional Freedom Techniques, EFT to break the emotional connections SO THAT, you can bring money back to its original and real meaning– which is a means of trade.  Nothing more.

The best tool for changing limiting beliefs is Emotional Freedom Techniques*, EFT, and to help you change this money limiting belief, here is a tapping scrip to help you release this money belief.  You may need to repeat for a few days or weeks, but its worth it, to release money from the role of being a provider of love and start a healthy relationship with money.

 

                                          Money is Not Love

Even though I have this hardwiring that the more money someone gives me or spends on me, or financially supports me, means they love me, I totally and completely love and accept myself.

Even though I have been taught to see money as love, and I am always seeking to find love in money, I totally and completely love and accept myself.

Even though I have this belief that money means love, and more money means more love, I love and accept myself.

And tapping around the points:

I was brought up that way,

my parents gave me things instead of time,

my parents gave me toys and games instead of love

my parents said they work hard to get me stuff, but had no time for me,

I was brought up to feel good with the toys, the games, the clothes, the vacations

I was told i am suppose to feel good, and loved that way,

I was told to feel happy with all that stuff, even if they had no time for me,

I learned that money buys love,

I learned to see money as the provider of things that I should see as love.

I learned its better to have all that stuff than have hugs and kisses,

I learned that the way to show love is through what money can buy,

I actually thought that is how it really is, that is the way it works, and I learned to substitute my need for love with things, to accept toys and games, and clothes as the way to know I am lovable,

I use money to show love to others too, to my partner, to my kids, because that is what I know,

and I still do that, I look money for validations, I look for money to make sure I am loved, I look for material things from my partner to know how much they love me.

KC: Even though I was so sure that  money means love, I am open to the idea of that may not be so true

KC:  Even though I had years of believing more money means more love, I am open to the idea that I was misguided, misinformed, taught wrong,

KC:  Even though I had for years thought its money that proves I am lovable, or its money that shows others I love them, I am open to changing this limiting belief now.

on the points

I choose to clear this belief, because I now know its NOT TRUE

I choose to clear the belief that money is love, because its not helping me be happy.

I choose to now delete this belief that is not serving me, and is not true, and has actually hurt me and has burdened my money.

This belief,

this false belief

its all wrong

and I don’t like it

in fact I am changing that belief now,

I am tapping this away daily, I am clearing this limiting belief, I am releasing this belief,

this belief, I am releasing it because I now see clearly what is going on– its my child mind thinking money is love, and I am now a grown up and I know better,

I choose to release this belief and release money from the burden of being something it is not.

I am thankful I have found this belief, and I now release it.

This tapping may bring up  a lot of emotions.  Just keep tapping, take it easy, and get support from a trained EFT practitioner if needed.

What Instructions Are You Giving…………Your Subconscious?

Did you know that your thoughts are actually instructions to your subconscious mind?

What you say in your mind matters.  If your thoughts are scattered, or you are not clear on what you want, then your subconscious is also confused and does not really understand what you want.

Imagine giving the waiter confused instructions on how you want your food.  Is it fried, or boiled, or grilled.  Is it with veggies, or rice.  Its not clear, and he cannot get you what you want.

Same thing is happening with your life, whether its success, or more money, or to have a great relationship.  You must be very clear on what you want, AND your thoughts have to be on that.  I mean, you can not be thinking how hard it is to be successful, or to be financially free, or whatever it is you want.  You must be thinking of how good it is to be –to have-to do do- whatever it is you are striving for.

People are often confused with the Law of Attraction, because in their minds they are requesting what they want but in reality they are saying things like;

“I don’t want to work years to be successful”, or ” I have to work really hard to have……”, or “it hard to find the love of my life” and guess what, because their thoughts are instructions to the subconscious and the subconscious mind is actually YOUR GENIE, it follows your instructions, then it is going to be hard. You subconscious mind will make sure that the path is hard, and you don’t recognise the easy ways, or take action in the easier path.

Knowing the way your mind works, your job is to give CLEAR instructions on what it is you really want. And make sure all those thoughts that are not serving you well, are not happening in your mind.  Make sure you stop the beliefs that are saying “its hard, its impossible, I can not….”.  STOP the limiting beliefs.

The best tool for changing limiting beliefs is Emotional Freedom Techniques*, EFT, and to help you change those limiting beliefs, here is a tapping script for changing or eliminating a Limiting Belief, so that you can give instructions to your subconscious that are in line with what you want.

Stop Limiting Belief

On the Side of the hand:

Even though I have the thoughts that its going to be hard, I accept myself.

Even though I have the belief that its not easy, and that keeps popping up in my mind, I love and accept myself.

Even though I have the belief that its not that easy to be:  successful, in a great relationship, rich,……. fill in whatever for you, because this is the belief to shift, I totally and completely accept my self and who I am.

and on the points,

Its hard,  its not easy,

its going to take a lot of work

I am not sure i can do it

I am tired of trying

I mean I really want, …….. but its going to be hard,

I don’t know how, other may know, but I don’t know how–its hard,

Put in your own words, here tapping all the negative thoughts and belief that its hard.  It may take several rounds.

When you feel the belief is now lighter, and maybe its not so true, start with,

I wonder if its possible its not that hard,

I wonder if its possible I am complicating things

I wonder if I already know pretty much how to do it

I wonder if I stop saying its hard, if it will be easier,

Is it possible for me to to say it may be easier than I think

In fact it probably is easier than what I keep saying to myself,

Is it possible if I change my words, and say “I can”, “I will”,  I will be more empowered and enthusiastic about doing it.

I choose to make it easy on me,

Because thinking its going to be hard is not helping me, and it is not a fact, its my belief

I choose to believe that I can do it, and its going to be doable.

I choose to believe I am able to do this, because that is much better than thinking I can not or its hard,

I am choosing thoughts that help me have what I want, and I totally and completely love and accept myself.

This tapping will help you change your beliefs, and your negative thoughts to positive ones, and I do recommend you add in your words, and work on each belief separately, till your default thought is changed to one of believing you can have what you want, and you give your subconscious clear messages.

Is there a Pill for that……….Happiness?

Last week, I was doing training on stress release for a leading corporation in Egypt, and the topic went around to happiness, and how by continuously releasing stress, and changing our perspective on life events, we are working our way towards being more calm and happier in our lives.

image happiness pillsAfter two very full days of sharing mind set tools, energy flow tools, and breathing techniques so that we lead Stress Less lives, in the last session of the workshop I discussed activities that lead to the release of serotonin in the body and that it is termed the happiness hormone.

To my surprise, one person’s eyes got really big and she asked, can we take that as a supplement?, “I mean is it available”, and she wrote down the name.   In her mind that would be the whole solution.

This made me stop and think, what if she does take that pill, and her thought patterns, her assumptions, her perceptions and her reactions stayed the same.  Would the pill really work?.  I mean would the pill really really, really work?  Would she wake up happy, and be happy?

Would a pill fill her body with a substance that would create happiness?, would she feel that warm feeling in her heart.  Would she feel satisfied and grateful. Would she feel, calm and peaceful, and deep trust that all is well.  Would she feel happy?

I don’t know what the pill will do, all I know is happiness is from the inside, happiness is the way we see the world, our perceptions, our thought patterns, and our beliefs.  It is our trust and love of ourselves and others.

Happiness is a way of life, and we get to choose our way of life.

Happiness is a Choice.

EFT, often called Tapping is the best tool on earth to change beliefs, perceptions and thought patterns.  Tapping will go to the subconscious programs that have taught you to assume, to perceive matters in a certain way, to have those meanings, and to react in a set manner.  Tapping will change and delete those programs.  Yes, I mean the programs in your subconscious that are driving you crazy and taking away your peace of mind.  Tapping will help you choose your way of life, to create the life you deserve.

Today, I am sharing a tapping to tell your mind your are choosing happiness.

Happiness Is A Choice

On the Karate Chop Point, start tapping*

KC:  Even though I find it hard to be happy, I accept and myself,

KC:  Even though I find it hard to believe anyone can be happy, I love and accept myself.

KC:  Even though I really find it hard for me to be happy, with the way my life is, I love and accept myself.

Tapping*on the points and repeat these words:

Its hard for me to be happy,

there are so many things that are not going well,

people are very difficult,

my life is really tough,

I have too many things in my life, I am overloaded, I am overwhelmed,

I wonder if that saying that happiness is a choice is really true,

I wonder if its possible that happiness is just a choice,

I wonder if I can see a small thing to be happy about in my life,

I wonder if there is anything in my life that i can smile about,

I wonder if my assumptions on how things are suppose to be, is part of the reason I am not happy,

i wonder if its my perceptions that are creating my beliefs that I can not be happy,

I wonder if it is possible for me to be happy a few hours a day,

I wonder if I could be happy for a full day, a few days, a week, and even more,

I wonder if I can just choose to be happy, no matter what,

I wonder if I decide that is what I am going to do, see the good, see what is the lesson in this situation, and learn to change what i can, and know what i can not change.

I choose to purposefully, change the way I look at things,

I choose to stop the assumptions, to stop the shoulds and to stop the set perceptions,

i choose to be grateful, no matter what,

i choose to be happy, no matter what,

Positivity Pays

images positiveity is keyThere has been lots of talk about Positivity, and Positive Thinking, and how great that is for you life, and there is no argument there.  But did you know that being positive can actually boost your bank account.  You may be saying really?  How? What does being happy go lucky person have to do with me making more money?

According to Thomas C. Corley who studied over 170 rich and successful self-made millionaires for 5 years,  “Long-term success is only possible when you have a positive mental outlook”, and “In my research, positivity was a hallmark of all the self-made millionaires.”

There you have it a key to being successful and wealthy is maintaining a positive outlook on life.  Of course that is not all you need to be or do, but what about starting there.

What about starting today to be more positive, to learn how you can have a positive inclination and perception of what happens to you and around you, and to shift your negative thoughts to positive ones.

I know its hard, and the world is not always easy, but did I hear you say, you would like to have more money and create wealth in your life.  Well, being positive is one of the skills and attitudes you need to acquire.

Yes, I said skill that you can learn.  By practicing positivity, you will in time shift your default and one day you will wake up more positive, with positive expectations for your projects, the way people treat you, your success and your money.

How long is that going to take, probably a minimum of 40 days of seriously and consciously switching your mindset to being more positive. It may take longer and it is a path, the more you practice, and the more your are positive and expect good things to come your way, the more you will be positive, and one day you will feel, wow, I really do look at the bright side of things, no matter how dark it may be.

To help you on your way to being more positive and happier, so that you can create the success, the money and wealth you want, I have a tapping* script for you.

Positivity Is Possible

well, i don’t know but this negativity has not done me any good,

its kept me miserable, and angry, and sad, and tired,

this negativity i have been doing for xxxxx years has not worked,

maybe i could try this positive stuff for a while,

just a few days and see if anything changes,

they keep talking ab out it,

maybe i could give it a try,

I wonder if its possible that all that talk about positivity is true,

maybe I have been doing things the hard way

maybe my positivity will bring me better things into my life,

especially with the law of attraction thing,

maybe I could try that positivity stuff out.

I choose to be positive today,

I choose to be positive today, tomorrow and day after

I choose to be positive for a week

I choose to give this new attitude a chance,

and watch what happens.

I choose to allow myself to see the good and positive aspects of my life.

I choose to have a positive outlook for today.

Does Money bring Joy?

Does Joy bring Money?

You may be thinking “Of course if I have lots of money, I will be happier.  You may even strive day and night, working longer hours, more days, and many years to accumulate more money, in order to have more money.  And most people think that is the way to be happy, at least most of the happiness will be fulfilled.

You will be able to have the house, the car, the vacations, and the safety net of money in the bank, and you will be happy.

What if I told you, that

HAPPY is the way to having money. Not just happy, but even more, being in a state of joy.

Yes, I mean that, being in a state of joy most of your time, is the way to create the wealth you are striving for.

The state of joy is an energetic state where your vibrations are high, and in being there, you can attract the situations, the people, the ideas, and inspirations that will lead to you making and having more money.

I have been working and speaking to the energy of money for years, and I have heard over and over  Money tell my clients, be in a state of Joy.

Enjoy your life.  Enjoy where you are at now.  Enjoy the little things in life. Enjoy and be in a state of Joy.  Joy is a state where you vibrate at 540 and that is a great place to be to attract abundance and goodies into your life.

So what do you do if you find it hard to be in a state of joy.

3 Steps to being in Joy

  1. Notice and write 3 things that are joyful to you daily, it could be your dogs greeting, the flower that bloomed, or the promotion you go.  It does not have to be anything big, it just has to make your heart feel good.
  2. Do 1 thing that brings joy to others.  Because when we see joy in others it mirrors in our brain and we feel the same.  It could be as simple as helping someone cross the street, opening a door, saying good morning with a smile to a child, a stranger, or genuinely thanking the bus driver.
  3. Tap. Yes Tapping will help you reach a state of joy.

and if you are having trouble with finding Joy, here is a tapping script to help.

Finding Joy 

Lets rate, how hard is it for you to see that joy is possible in your life.  On a scale of 1-10, where 1 is I can not find any reason to be joyful, and 10 is, wow, I have an amazing life and I am enjoying it fully.

KC:  Even though I find it hard to be in a state of joy I totally and completely accept myself.

KC:  Even though my life is ………….,  don’t talk to me about joy, because i don’t find anything to be joyful about, i completely accept where i am at now.

KC:  Even though my life is tough and talking about joy triggers me because I am far from it, I totally and completely accept where I am at now.

Following the tapping points*  tap several rounds.

my life is difficult

I don’t see any thing to be happy about

its hard for me

you don’t know my life.

my life has always been a mess

nothing goes right,

i can not be in joy because it am –angry– sad–resentful–spiteful–in fear–(you fill in your words)

My life is full of people who are making it hard on me

I can not find anything to be happy or joyful about.

Tap those a few rounds, maybe 4 or 5 rounds,

I wonder if its possible that there is one thing that is nice in my life.

I wonder if its possible for me to find one thing, one person who helps me fee good

i wonder if its possible that I can find 3 things in my life that bring me a smile on my face.

I choose to find something good about my life.

I choose to look into my day and see what could be a source of joy

I choose to bring more awareness and see the blessings in my life, no matter how small.

I choose for today to concentrate on finding 3 things that make my heart feel warm.

And please do write those things down in a nice journal, and see what develops.

Because, as you show your mind and body what joy feels, like and start to experience that vibration, it will happen more and more and for longer periods and that is the way to attract more abundance, and more money into your life.

Change Your Words–Change Your Wealth

What you say matters.  Especially if you start your statements with I.  “I” or “I am” statements are very powerful affirmations.  Be super meticulous with your words.    When you find yourself about to say something negative about yourself, or money, STOP, and restate that.

In this post I will guide you to change your statements, so that you can attract money and I am sharing a powerful tapping script that will shift your nervous system reactions when you think of money.

First lets change those statements:

” I need to save for that”.    switch that to     ” I will create the money for that.”

“I never have enough money     switch that to    ” I have enough money for all my needs.”

“I don’t know how to manage money”              ” I manage money well”

” I am always in debt”            “I have a safety net of savings.”

” I hate money”    OHHH!!      ” I LOVE Money.”

“Money never comes to me.”       “money flows to me easily.”

“Money is hard to make”          “I create ways to make money easily”

I choose to thank money for being there for me.

I choose to feel good about whatever money I earn.

I choose to give gratitude to money, smile and say thank you.

I choose to be happy now with what I have.

This tapping is powerful, you may need to repeat it several days, or longer, depending on how much you have been judging money, and your emotional reaction when you think of money.

Once you get a new mindset around money, and treat money with more respect, watch what happens to your earnings and spending.

Is it Fear of Failure or……….Fear of Success

images fear of success writingYou done all they told you to do. Got the degree from a well respected university, did more and got your masters or MBA. You have been working really hard for years, and you still don’t feel you are getting what you deserve. You tell yourself, learn more, train more, work harder, longer and maybe they will promote you, or your work will be seen more.

If that has been your story, maybe you don’t need to do any more. I mean no more external solutions, because you know in your heart you have done your best, and with what you have you should be there by now. And when you talk to your friends and read articles you recognize you don’t have any problem with fear of failure, because in reality you have not failed, and you have the skills, and you know you are GOOD at what you do.

What is going on?! Why do you keep running and not getting where you want to go? why is it so hard? Do you feel like you keep striving and not arriving?

Let me ask you this, “what would happen if you did reach your goal? I mean what would happen if you reached your success marker?”
I know, you’d be excited, have more money, more power, more influence, the body you have dreamt of, and be more happy?
Are you sure you would be more happy?

Now please reflect on this question: ” what is the downside of getting to my goal?
Yes, take a deep breath. What will happen that you don’t like or are afraid will happen when you reach your goal?

The answer to that question is the key to your success. Those fears are your fear of actually succeeding at what you say you are working towards.
What is really happening is that you are working hard to “get there”, but that is the external actions. Internally, you are putting the brakes, and saying ” Oh, No. I am not going there.”
and you know what, that internal message has more power than all the work you do externally. In fact its pretty strong. Its the Foot on the brake, and no matter what you do to move forward, its really hard to get there, its super slow if you do move, and its frustrating and tiring.

FEAR OF SUCCESS is a real big stopper, and once you understand it, then you can release that fear and get the inner part of you helping and supporting your external, physical efforts. Once you have all the bits in congruency, its easy to reach your goals, and your efforts are highly rewarded.

From my work I have found Fear of Success is so prevalent, that I have decided to hold in-person group sessions during April, on Releasing Fear of Success, so that we can all remove the brakes.

I will also be doing on-line “Release The Brakes on Your Success” in English and will be announcing that soon.

Now lets use EFT*, the number one tool on the planet to delete that fear.

Release Fear of Success

KC: Even though I have this fear of success I totally and completely love and accept myself.
KC: Even though I have this fear of getting what I say I want, I totally and completely love and accept myself.
KC: even though I have this fear of reaching my goal, I totally and completely love and accept myself.
Tapping on the points:

I am really afraid that if I reach my goal I will have sacrificed a lot,
I am really afraid that to reach my goal means that I have to……………….
I am afraid that to reach my goal, I will lose………………..
This fear of success
This fear of actually reaching my goal
I now see it, I am afraid, and I am making it really hard on myself.
I am making it very hard on myself, like driving with the brakes on
My goal looks great, and I work so–so hard to get there, but I have this fear inside me
This fear that………………… This fear,
This fear, this awful fear, this fear that makes me feel …………… in my body, this fear,
This fear, this belief that this is what will happen if I get to my goal, if I succeed,
This fear, this fear, this belief, this scary feeling, this fear,
Its stopping me, its making my goal so hard to reach, this fear.

Continue tapping on the fear till it reaches 5 or less. You can now tap in positive statements.
I wonder if its possible to know its ok if I reach my goal,
I wonder if its possible that what I am afraid of if not worth me stopping myself.
I wonder if its possible that this fear is not really what is going to happen
I wonder if its possible that I have stopped myself because of a misunderstanding in my mind.

I choose to go for my goal, and feel safe. I choose to fully go for my goal
Repeat the above as needed, may take a few days of regular tapping.

Is It Driving You Crazy………Procrastination?

Ah Procrastination, almost everybody is affected.

Many are so embarrassed that they too are procrastinators.

Its a tough one.

You end up with hours of self blame and nights trying to get rid of it.

That too, my friends I had.  Yes, I did.

I know, from my accomplishments, you would never guess it.  You would think I stick to a strict time schedule and get my stuff done.  In fact, I was till recently struggling with daily procrastination on my important tasks. It felt AWFUL, I felt like PROCRASTINATION was ruling my life, almost like a drug, and the self blame and frustration why I could not get over it was tiring me out.

I worked on my procrastination, without procrastinating!!
I am sharing what I did to get release that way of acting– that awful virused PROGRAM.  I am because it may help you on your way of recovering from Procrastination.

First of all, let us agree that procrastination is NOT LAZINESS, or CARELESSNESS.

Procrastination is a real issue and has deep underlying reasons.

Here is what causes procrastination. The task you have written down is too large; for example you need to write an article. In reality this may mean a.  do research, b. do interviews  c. write draft d. write article.   The tasks need to be written out that way, or you may, like me just keep moving that big task from one week to the next, or to next year as has happened with me.  

There is a part you don’t know how to do, or is difficult–so a.  get help, b. recognize the sub tasks and start on them–for example, for website building, a. check out web builders,  b. research pros-cons,  c. choose a builder.

Having dealt with the skills issues….Recognize the emotions underlying the procrastination– and that is the biggie.  WHY don’t I want to do it.  A lot of times our first answer is

 “of course I want to get this done– its on my list and I need to do it.”

but in reality there is a reason for the struggle and putting this task off.

A question I use with myself and my clients is

“What will happen if you get it done?”, 

and you will be surprised how clear and fast the answer comes, and it usually has to do with a FEAR.

Fear of rejection, fear of being told its not good enough, fear of being judged, fear of completion, and even fear of doing it well.

The fear is so strong that it stops till you barely have time, and now you have to just get it done, and then in your mind even if you are rejected you have a great excuse, “it was a fast job–its not my best–its because i procrastinated”  all these are saying

“its not me to be rejected– its because of the way I handled it.”

The best way to break procrastination is to deal with that fear, and the best way I know of on this planet to release the fear is to use Emotional Freedom Techniques, EFT*.

FEAR OF GETTING IT DONE

First rate from O-1O, where ten is worst, how do you feel about your procrastination.  And then start tapping*

KC:  Even though I am not doing what I am suppose to do, I love and accept myself.

KC:  Even though I am doing what I am suppose to do, I love and accept my self.

KC:  Even though I have been avoiding doing this task, I totally and completely love and accept myself.

and tapping through the points:

i don’t want to do it

i keep putting it on my list

and i just don’t get to it

and then i feel bad, i feel awful

and i blame myself for not getting it done

i just don’t want to do it,

in reality its becoming very heavy on my heart, when i think about it, i can hardly breathe,

and some times my heart palpitates,

i just can not get my self to get started, or to finish it,

its tiring me out and i am tired of seeing this task on my list EVERYDAY, its haunting me,

i know i am going to have to do it before its deadline, but its so hard for me to start, and i keep putting it off,

its because…….your fear goes here……..

its because if i get it done, it may not be just right, and then they will
know i am not as good as i claim,

its because it may not be perfect

its because i am afraid when they get the proposal they will just ignore me, or write me a ‘no, thank you letter’, yes a rejection

its because, i am really afraid of being hurt again, i am afraid of being told
I am not good enough– it really would hurt,

Now tap directly on the fear,

this fear of rejection

this fear of not being good enough

this fear that they will not accept my work

this fear that no clients will buy what i am offering

this fear………

when the fear is calmer, think about the worst case– maybe they don’t accept your proposal, or they never give you an interview.  Does that really, really mean because they reject you– what else could it mean.  Your mind will find other reasons and you will release the fear that it only means — you are not good enough.

could it be they don’t need that service, or its good but they want something different, something less expensive.

My advice is to tap on the fears daily, and anything that comes up causing you to not get the task done.

It may take a week, 2 weeks, or even a month of tapping on issues related to procrastination, but believe me, its worth it.

Go for it, get your to do list done with ease,

to your success, and happiness,
